Jesus Our Shepherd

Main Scripture: Luke 15:3-7

In Luke 15:3-7 we see the Parable of The Lost Sheep.

“Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.”

During this time the responsibility of a shepherd is based on the sheep that he keeps safe, he is in charge of fighting off any predators and making sure that they are kept safe. But in this parable we see that Jesus leaves the 99 others to find the sinner that is you and me.

Jesus is our shepherd and he left all that he had to die on the cross for the sins. I can admit that I have failed many times but finding the truth that Jesus is our shepherd that he is there to guide, protect and be with us wherever we go.

When we feel lost, alone or scared seek your good shepherd so that he can guide you. Don’t let fear get in the way, but let Jesus take your hand and lead you back on the path that you need to be on.

Find Hope in Jesus and that he is your good shepherd that he will go out of his way to keep you from harm. You are so valuable to Jesus, you are a treasure to him, you are loved in so many ways. Pray to him today and thank him for keeping you safe, healthy and for His many blessings.

Love and Blessings,
