Are we there yet?

Main Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6

I remember, a few years ago, on the way to Arkansas waking up in the car and seeing nothing but miles of flat land. Nothing but flooded corn and rice fields surrounded me, and I reverted to a six-year-old on the way to the beach. I asked the favorite question of any kid, “Are we there yet?”

Most days that same question can be applied to not only our place here on earth, but also our spiritual walk. Where are we? Are we full steam ahead, trusting in the Lord? Are we consistently pursuing Gods will for us? I wish I could wake up every morning and answer that question with a solid “YES!” But let’s be honest, none of us can do that. We all have days that we wake up in that middle of the road area. The place where we only follow God if its convenient for us. Lastly there are the days that it’s our way, or the highway. The days that we think we know best and regardless of what the Lord tells us, we do the opposite.

Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways trust in Him, and he will make your paths straight.” In other words, God knows what’s best all the time! He will never lead us into a situation that we cannot handle, or one that we cannot grow in our walk with him!

Even though you may not wake up surrounded by miles of rice and corn, stop and take a look inside. Look at your spiritual walk. We should want to wake up every morning and be on fire for God. Take a moment to get real and ask yourself, are we there yet?

Love and Blessings,
