Have you let go of the Pain?

Main Scripture: Psalm 147:3

It was in the Garden of Eden when Sin first entered our world. When Adam and Eve sinned against God by eating of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. When Sin entered the world in the Garden of Eden so did pain. As humans when we sin we cause pain. You ask How? We break the very heart of God every time we sin because he sent HIS son to die for OUR sin. Sometimes the result of our sins can cause pain into the life of others. Sometimes without us even knowing that our choice to choose sin over God can have a negative affect on the lives of those around us. An example of this would be when someone chooses drugs to fulfill them over the peace of God. This choice to choose drugs can cause pain to one’s family. A deep and dark pain.

We all know that pain is not fun. Whether it’s the physical pain like breaking a bone, or a bad breakup with a girlfriend or boyfriend. Whether we admit to it or not, we have all experienced pain before. Some have experienced more than others. As a human being you were not made to be able to heal yourself from pain. We are in this world of sin, we can’t heal ourselves of pain. When we try to heal and help ourselves from pain on our own we put ourselves in a scary spot. Then we are trying to fix our own problems by our own might instead of relying on the Strength of God. You cannot heal yourself. Ever. Only God can truly heal you of any and all of the pain in your life!! Psalms 147:3 has something that fits right in with this topic of pain, and who can heal it.

“He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.” – Psalm 147:3

GOD is the one who binds us up, puts us back together, and makes us complete! I have no idea what kind of pain you have today. Or the burdens you may be carrying. Maybe today you feel as if God is distant. I want to encourage you to draw near to God today. Cry out to him in prayer. If you feel any kind of pain or are carrying around the burden of pain in your life ask GOD to heal you! Just like Psalm 147:3 says “He Heals the broken in heart,”. God wants to heal you. He loves you today. Our God is healer of all things broken. God of the entire universe. Our God is a Miracle Worker. Our God is a way maker. God is my father, is he your father?

As I close today’s devotion I want you to take sometime and reflect. What pain are you holding onto today? What is currently going on in your life?

Do you need to talk to someone about this pain you are carrying? If so, you can talk to me or any of our youth leaders. I am here for you, and so are they! Feel free to reach out to me if you feel you need to talk to someone! Maybe you need to talk to a parent, an uncle, a grandparent, a brother or sister about the pain you are carrying. If you are holding onto pain today, please talk to someone! You are not alone! Our God is a Way Maker! Let him be that in your life as well!

Are you allowing God to heal you? Are you laying your pain at the foot of the cross and allowing God to take care of the pain you have? Allow God to take care of you. Not part of you. All of you. He loves you.
