The Transformer-Wednesday May 13th, 2020.

I Have a kitchen because it came with the House.

Main Scripture: 1st Corinthians 12:12

I just finished a chore that I am not fond of. If you know me you might guess pretty easily… You guessed it. Baking! Now, don’t get me wrong… I can bake and my family and friends may chime in that I do have some tasty treats they request. I am not denying I CAN bake I am just (as my granddaughter would say) “not a fan”. Sometimes, I ponder why I don’t like to bake. My Grandmother Ruth was known for her skills in the kitchen, as well as both my Mom and Sister. So, baking should really be in my genes, right?

I often wonder, why some things that come easily and so naturally for others I struggle so hard with. And, just as the saying goes “the struggle is real”. Have you ever felt that way? I remember in scripture reading about the body of Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.

The Apostle Paul gave us really good advice to follow when we often start thinking maybe we are not as talented as others. Paul makes it very plain.  As a Christ follower we are connected to other Christ followers in the family of God.  What Paul is explaining here goes like this. Just like in your physical body, you need all the “parts” to help your body function at it’s full protentional.  If you dig a little deeper into the scripture you’ll find he emphasizes all parts of the body are crucial and one is not more important than the other.

Hey, I even understand this concept. When I think about it there are some tasks that I enjoy or even love to do that others really don’t enjoy. What a beautiful picture of the body of Christ. We are all created in the image of God. But, we as believers are given different talents, gifts, and passions.

Our gifts are from the One who knows us best. He created us perfectly to do our job in the body of Christ. So, put away your struggles and competitive spirit with others. Think about what you love to do? What are you really good at? If you can answer these questions you are on your way to be the best body-part ever! Well, you know what I mean.

I believe with my whole heart God made us all for a special purpose. The purpose is to love, worship, and serve Him. I challenge you to find your place in the Body of Christ.

Side note: If you do LIKE to bake help out a sister send brownies!

Love and Blessings,
